We have been extremely BLESSED with the outpouring of support and many many applications from potential heroes to help Tom find a match from a living donor.  We are excited to announce that that hero has been found and the surgery is scheduled for January 2.  Please continue to share our story and like our Facebook page for more current updates https://www.facebook.com/Kidney4tom-109251987106416/.  For those of you who applied for Tom, please accept our undying gratitude and admiration for your kindness to a complete stranger.  Anything can happen, so we may have to reach out at some point for another donor.  Please consider saving another life through proceeding to help someone.  UW Health will coordinate everything throught the national Paired Exchange, and you could be the spark to save more than one life.  May God always bless your path.

    Karen Buelow

Tom Buelow needs a blood TYPE O kidney from a living donor. Without a transplant, he faces a difficult journey. He is a happy and otherwise healthy guy - a retired IBM’er who loves to sail, fix things, travel and enjoy life. His kidneys failed in 2018 and he is on dialysis, which is challenging to say the least. If he were a sailboat, he’d need a bilge pump! To see if you might be his hero, please visit www.kidney4tom.com. You can also visit the UW Transplant website or call the transplant coordinators at UW Health in Madison at 608 263-1384.   I'll keep posting our progress here!  Bookmark it!
